The First Three Generations

Since the names of Busses frequently get confusing let's list the first three generations to see where we are going:

1. Robert Buss settled in Bromley, Kent c.1775.
2. His eldest son, William Church Buss, was born in 1778. At age 25, in 1803, he married Mary Ann Starling. Another Willam and Mary!
3. A year later the first child of this union was born - the subject of our biography - Robert William Buss. Four other boys followed: William, Charles and Henry. The name of the fifth child, a girl, is unknown.

Since ancestry is frequently the source of character we will now back-track and retell the stories of the forebears of Robert Willam Buss as recorded by his brother Henry.
