Cricket on the Cow Patch

At the bottom of Darley Park was the cow patch, on which we played soccer in the winter. But to one side, near the railing, was a concreted cricket pad, with nets, where we practiced during the summer. Brian Skeldon provided these pictures of the cricket pad in course of creation. He adds: "Apparently the council allowed the land to be used, and the School provided the 'man' power. Not yet sure where the funds came from for the concrete etc., but I'm still on the case."
