Dear Old Centaur,
September is nearly with us, and 50-60 years ago
we would have been getting ready for a new term at school! Bright new
blazers, shiny leather satchels, clean PE kit!
The newly updated
Old Centaurs website has
suddenly grown by leaps and bounds. One-time pupils are finding old friends,
and reading history and stories which had long since been forgotten.
We have over 200
photographs and images for you to browse. There are scores of stories,
memories and articles from Old Centaurs.
And I'm excited to tell you there are now
SIX
School magazines available with the prospect of more to come. They make
amazing reading.
You might be very surprised at what you find. The
Home Page contains a Search Engine so you can look up names and events with
ease. The site is a becoming a gold-mine for historical researchers. Take
time to come back over and over again. The
Latest section always shows the newest additions
True - some sections look like they are rather
arbitrarily arranged, which is something I will have to address later, maybe
during the Christmas vacation.
A BIG REQUEST
Please pass on this email to as many
Central School contacts as you can and get them to write to me to be added
to the mailing list.
If you have stories, photos and press cuttings
which you can't already see on the site, please send them to us for future
inclusion. More and more men are sending mini-biographies with a modern
picture. These are amazing. Have you sent yours?
I know many old boys are not very accustomed to
the Internet - but this is still the very best way to share our common
school inheritance. Perhaps with a little help, anyone can access it.
For those of you (and you know who you are) who
have plied me with huge amounts of information, a very big, heart-felt Thank
you.
Please keep in touch with the occasional email.
News is always good!
With very best wishes,
Michael Buss
