CAN YOU IMAGINE what it's like to push your
memory back 65 years to try and draw the layout of your school??
This is what Arthur set out to do when he saw the pictures of
Abbey Street - the second home of Derby Central School. Here is
the outcome of his late night session. These drawings reflect
building usage from 1935-1939. Send us your memories (and
drawings!!)
He adds: "[these are] rough recollections of the Abbey Street
layout. I think the scale proportions are not good because the
Art Room, Main Hall and Chemmy Lab are fatter than they should
be. It is now 23.30 and bedtime! Note two schools, Gerard Street
and Abbey Street were built back to back." Great job! |
