If you want to see who I
am, then look at the School Photo of 1954; I am standing immediately behind, and
just to the right of Ken Limbert. (See above - Ed.) I was part of the 1950 intake and left in
August 1954. I even remember the
photographer with his clockwork camera standing on the “well manicured lawn”
taking this panoramic shot.
If you have any problems
with retrieval of the photo, please tell me and I will send it in another
format.
Best regards,
George William Tomlinson
THEN
SOME AFTERTHOUGHTS ...
Jan 28th 2006
You seem to be getting a
barrage of messages from me, but it was great to read all about some of own
memories as recorded by other fellow pupils at the school.
I am new to this game of
the Internet – I was not connected until 6th January 2006, so I am
learning bit by bit!
Just read about Denis
Tunnicliffe - I did some expert witness consultancy work for his Railway
Standards Board following the Ladbroke Grove train crash, and didn’t even
realise it was him, and that he was an “Old Centaur”.
The world is small – I
was walking through he Temple of Heavenly Peace in Beijing whilst working for
the World Bank, and someone shouts – “Hello George”, the guy was from Burton on
Trent on another assignment (coal) whilst I was advising on railways!
