Genealogy of Buss Family

Our Great-Grandfather was Notary & Schoolmaster at Tunbridge
in the County of Kent, England.

Note: “A notary in those days was a lawyer, and a schoolmaster and
carried a very high social position.”
(these are James G. T. Buss’s words.) “He had five sons = viz:

W. C. Buss, Engraver
G. Buss our Grandfather – Bookbinder
Robert Buss - Officer in the Army
Austin Buss – In the East India Government
Henry Buss – (Gentleman) which means he had private fortune
(I believe he married into a wealthy family.)

Our Great Uncle W.C. Buss had four sons
Robert Buss – who was a celebrated artist
	Charles Buss – Merchant
	William Buss – Doctor
	Henry Buss – Engraver

Our Grandfather George Buss had two sons:
	Richard Fleetwood Buss
	George Ebenezer Buss

Our father Richard Fleetwood Buss had two sons:
	Richard Alfred Buss
	James George T. Buss

Our uncle George Buss had no children
Richard Alfred Buss two sons:
	Richard Montgomery Buss
	William David Buss

With this you can make a genealogical Family Tree. You see it is only the male line but on to [our] father’s family branch you can add Mary and Charlotte, and from Charlotte you see spring the Gault branch, as also in your own family you can add Sadie and Annie. Sarah died unmarried – then with Annie starts another branch, the Whittinghams and as far as your boys are concerned they work out other branches. Americans think much of the Ancestral Trees – & with this information a good genealogist would produce something ( ? ) satisfactory.

The descendants of grandfather’s other three brothers were not on the paper.”

I am still seeking clarifications to questions I have about James George T. Buss, and Mary's connection to him. - (Michael Buss)
